Black Bear Paging can now provide you with weather bulletins right to your pager. These bulletins are issued by the National Weather Service. Choose from the Basic Weather or 7/24 Emergency Weather programming options. (Descriptions of these options are available below).

 

BASIC WEATHER

Basic Weather subscribers will get Zone Forecasts, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and Watches, and Non-Precipitation weather bulletins (as issued by the National Weather Service) sent to their pager. Weather Zones that are available are Wood, Kanawha, Raleigh and Harrison counties in West Virginia. Bulletins are delivered to the customers pager from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m, Sunday through Saturday.
7/24 SEVERE WEATHER

Subscribers to the 7/24 Severe Weather Bulletins will receive Flash Flood, Severe Thunderstorm Warning, Tornado Warning, Civil Emergency Message, Flash Flood Statement, Flash Flood Watch, Non-Prec Warning, River Flood Statement, River Flood Warning, Severe Weather Statement, Special Weather Statement, Winter Weather Statement, Severe Thunderstorm Watch, and Tornado Watch bulletins. The 7/24 Severe Weather Zone includes Cabell, Mason, and Wood counties in WV and Gallia, Meigs, Vinton, Hocking, Athens, Jackson, and Lawrence counties in Ohio. Bulletins are delivered to the customers pager 24 hours a day -  7 days a week.

NOTE: The weather service is a free service to AlphaNumeric pager subscribers only. A nominal reprogramming fee does apply. During periods of Severe Weather, this service can become quite active.
